On Tuesday 4th June we had a perfect evening for our celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday. This was held as usual at the Hotel Lido Seegarten, where there is still plenty of free parking, a
precious commodity in Lugano.
We started off the proceedings with refreshing drinks. As soon as everyone had arrived, Peter Goddard, a long-standing member of The British Residents’ Association, gave the Loyal Toast.
He said a few words reflecting our admiration for Her Majesty and her many decades of duty and service representing a stabilising influence for all of us.
We rounded off the evening with an informal dinner on the terrace, enjoying the friendly conversation and benefiting from the unbeatable views across the lake.
