On 21st March 2024 at the Château de Prangins, the opening of the exhibition “Anne Frank et la Suisse”, endorsed by the Anne Frank Fonds Basel, took place. The Châteaux de Prangins is the largest publicly accessible castle in Switzerland dated back to the 18 th century and the domicile of the Swiss National Museum in the Romandie. The Diary of Anne Frank is universally famous, but few people know, however, that its worldwide distribution originated in Switzerland. While Anne, her sister and her mother perished in a concentration camp, her Father was the only member of the family to survive the Holocaust. In the 1950’s Otto Frank moved in with his sister Leni in Basel, where he made it his mission to make his daughter’s writings known and to preserve her message of humanity and tolerance for future generations. A very worthwhile visit!
